Reusable pen holder Bonus Gift

Recently made a wedding bench, which I'll be blogging about next, and didn't know what to do with the paint pens the guests would be using to sign the bench.  Day before the wedding, I'm running around Micheal's looking for a basket, a box, something to hold the pens! The worst that could happen, a paint pen leaks on the bench! Didn't find one single thing I liked, and after a V8 moment, I decided to make my own. After making it,  I realized this would be a great travel chalkboard for the kids, perfect gift for teachers. Back to my newlyweds that I made this one for, Great place to leave each love notes, they can use the shelf for love trinkets, keys, extra pens, candles, etc. Great for use with..http://angidotes.blogspot.com/2013/09/the-wedding-guest-bench.html

The Build
This is a hybrid version of Ana White's 10 dollar ledge,http://ana-white.com/2010/10/plans/ten-dollar-ledges combined with a scrap 1x6 board, which I sanded, routed the edges and turned into a chalkboard!
4 inches wide, 7 inches tall, and 10 inches long
2 kreg screws hold it all together

That's Early American...gets a lot of use!

Such a fun build! I know I'll be making this one again
